Im Juli 2006 tat sich jedoch erstaunliches - fünf Jahre nach den Anschlägen: Ein bis dahin völlig unbekannter Zeuge tauchte erstmals auf und hatte sensationelles zu berichten:
Samuel Danner (electrical engineer for AmTrak), was involved in the clean-up at the Pentagon crash site and inspected the debris at the site. He said, "It was not a Boeing 757 that hit the Pentagon. The plane looked like a hump-back whale." He thinks a Global Hawk hit the Pentagon. [...]”
He got a good view of the plane's approach, for a duration of at least three seconds. He says that the plane was not a 757, no way. "It was like a humpback whale" he says. . . . one engine on the backside with a "V" tail and no windows he could see. And it was very quiet. Going about 400mph. Bollynsche Trickserei - es gibt keine vergleichbaren Berichte über Global Hawks oder sonstige Flugobjekte, die vom Mainstream ignoriert werden können.
Die Ignoranz der Mainstream-Medien gegenüber Danners Statement hingegen wird sich nachfolgend noch als begründet erweisen.
Der letztgenannte Bollyn-Artikel enthält in diesem Zusammenhang einen weiteren bemerkenswerten Satz:

Bollyn lässt sich ein Pseudo-Hintertürchen auf, daß angesichts der Qualität und Quantität der produzierten Artikel nur Feigenblatt-Charakter besitzt:

Der Umkehrschluß - falls der Danner-Bericht nicht wahr wäre - ist naheliegend: Ein Beleg, daß Bollyn & Co. (‘alternative Medien’) einen Hoax propagiert haben und das Feindbild der “kontrollierten Presse” durch dilettantischen Journalismus konstruieren.
Am 25.07.2006 veröffentlichte Bollyn einen Artikel mit einer Überschrift, die deutlich macht, um welches Feindbild es tatsächlich geht:

Mit dieser Fixierung schaffte es Christopher Bollyn sogar, der AMERICAN FREE PRESS vorzuwerfen, unter zionistischer Kontrolle zu stehen. Die Chronologie einer schnellen Demontage
Am 21.07.2006 meldete sich Matt Danner, der Sohn von Samuel Danner in der Radioshow von Michael Collins Piper zu Wort. (Quelle; Call-In erfolgt überraschend für Piper gegen 49:55; nachdem Matt Danner seine Intention kurz skizziert hatte, erfolgte bis 54:10 ein Werbebreak).
Matt Danner stellt hierbei die Behauptung auf, daß entscheidende Behauptungen seines Vaters nicht zutreffend seien. Sam Danner hätte sich zum Zeitpunkt des Flugzeug-Einschlages nicht in der Nähe des Pentagons aufgehalten, da er zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch zu Hause war. Sam Danner fuhr erst nach dem Impact zum Pentagon.
Am nächsten Tag meldete sich dieser Matt Danner in einigen Internet-Foren zu Wort, u.a. im LOOSE CHANGE-Forum:

Hey, for those of you who just listened to the Michael Collins Piper show.....I am Matt Danner.(sam danner's son) I really had no desire to get involved in this mess, but here i am.
For the record, my fathers story is pretty much a lie. He was at home during the 9/11 attacks, infact he is the one who woke me up to tell me what was going on.
I have been battling with him this entire week about coming clean with his story.....and well....since he didn't call into the Michael Piper show tonight....i felt i had to get this problem taken care of. I'm seriously sorry that my dad totally deceived all of you. I am a firm believer in telling the truth...so...here i am. I just talked to my father right after i was on RBNlive...and he is going to make a public confession.
Once again, everyone, please find it in your hearts to forgive my father.........i know everyone is searching for the truth....and things like this only get in the way. I really want nothing more to do with this whole debacle....as i truly did not want my name dragged into this mess. So other than posting in this post.....I seriously plan to stay out.
Hopefully, my dad will come clean on-air in the VERY near future.

Der zuletzt genannte Russell Pickering ist Betreiber von Pentagonresearch.com und in der Zweifler-Szene ein weitgehend akzeptierter Protagonist. Er kommt nach der Analyse zahlreicher Detailangaben ebenfalls zu dem Schluss, daß Danners Angaben nicht stimmen können:

Dylan Avery lässt sich in diesem Zusammenhang auch zu einer drastischen Bemerkung bgzl. Eric Hufschmid (Produzent von PAINFUL QUESTIONS und Auslöser der Danner-Story) hinreissen:

Am gleichen Tag folgt eine weitere Radioshow von Michael Piper, in der ausführlich mit Bollyn über Sam Danner und dessen strittige Aussage gesprochen wird. Über 50 Minuten wird viel geredet und wenig gesagt - in den letzten drei Minuten der 60 Minuten-Show kommt Sam Danner zu Wort. Über seine strittige Behauptung wird aber kein Wort mehr verloren - stattdessen wird sofort über Benjamin Netanjahu als “Mastermind des War on Terror” lamentiert. (Quelle)
Am 08.08.2006 nahm Sam Danner nach zahlreichen Aufforderungen Stellung zu den Vorwürfen und gestand seinen Fehler respektablerweise ein:

In einem Interview am 10.08.2006 mit WingTV - einem weiteren extremen VT-Protagonisten - erklärte Danner, wie ihm die Global Hawk angeblich ‘nahegelegt’ wurde und den Sturm im Wasserglas auslösen konnte:(Quelle)

Sam Danner: Okay, I wasn't sure. I thought it was a cruise missile that hit it. This is my personal opinion. But I didn't know anything about, you know, about this Global Hawk thing. Eric sent me this picture of this thing, and that jet engine reminded me of a cruise missile. I just went ahead and felt ... that I felt more or less a psychological pressure. He didn't say, "Sam, this is what, you know, you've got to say you saw this." But I felt that this was what I was supposed to say I saw. It flowed good with the story. I can't blame this man. You know, I'm taking the rap for this. But you know, I guess I was helped out, or edged on a little bit. But I'm not blaming him.
Die Auseinandersetzungen und Attacken innerhalb dieser absurd wirkenden Hardcore-Verschwörungstheoretiker-Szene (z.B. hier, hier, hier) sollen an dieser Stelle nicht das Thema sein.
Entscheidend sind nur zwei Aspekte:
1. Sam Danners Story war ein Hoax - ohne die frühe Intervention des Sohnes und dem frühen Eingeständnis des Vaters würde diese Story noch heute als “Beweis” im ‘Truth Movement’ kursieren.
Es existieren relativ wenige Ausrutscher unter dem ‘Truth’-Label.

2. Die Initiatoren dieser Hoax-Story - Hufschmid und Bollyn - sind seit 2002 maßgeblich an den Grundlagen der Zweifel-Agenda beteiligt und für die Verbreitung einer Vielzahl grundlegender ‘Merkwürdigkeiten’ mitverantwortlich. Ihr journalistisches Interesse beschränkt sich - exemplarisch bei der Danner-Story zu verfolgen - stets darauf, passende ‘Merkwürdigkeiten’ zu verbreiten, ohne sich für den Wahrheitsgehalt zu interessieren.
PRISONPLANET-Jones spielt in diesem Zusammenhang die Rolle des Multiplikators - solange sie ins Konzept passen, scheint auch Alex Jones am Wahrheitsgehalt von Informationen wenig interessiert zu sein.

Michael Collins Piper - Piper [...] has seen many frauds and phonies come and go [...] and noted the irony that he had actually given so much air time to Sam Danner who proved to be a false tale-spinner. Rein zufällig wurde er noch in derselben Augustwoche - nachdem er bereits seit über vier Jahren in der Szene aktiv tätig ist - Opfer einer Polizeiattacke und hatte damit ‘schlag’artig ein anderes Thema. (Bollyn-Artikel)

Beides existierte nur für kurze Zeit und weckte weitere Zweifel an der psychischen Stabilität dieses Mannes (ich habe seinerzeit die Youtube-Clips gesehen, die angeblich unter dem Einfluß von Medikamenten produziert wurden).
Es ist gut, daß sich dieser Mann komplett zurückgezogen hat, und es ist zu hoffen, daß sich dessen persönliche Situation seitdem bessert.
Ob dieser Mann nun authentisch war oder ein Köder der ‘Verschwörer’ (solche Spekulationen gibt es natürlich wie immer) - Bollyn&Hufschmid haben Danner benutzt, weil er ihnen nutzte.
